Food recovery & ingredient innovation

Giving Food a Second Life.

The problem

Food Shouldn't Become Waste Before Its Value Is Gone.

Fresh produce is valuable, but highly perishable. When it is not sold or used in time, its economic value can disappear. WolvesEra is building a system to recover that value before it becomes waste.

Large quantities of fruits and vegetables are discarded every day while they are still suitable for processing, for reasons that often have nothing to do with their food value.

Still suitable, still valuable

Much of the produce that never sells is perfectly suitable for processing. Its commercial window is simply too short.

Why suitable produce gets discarded

  • Surplus
  • Cosmetically imperfect
  • Overstocked
  • End of commercial window
  • Not sold quickly enough
  • Excess inventory
  • Suitable processing by-products

    Surplus produce

Overstocked, imperfect or unsold, but still suitable.

  2. 02

    Perishability

Fresh produce has a short commercial window.

  3. 03

    Waste

Produce that isn't sold or used in time is discarded.

  4. 04

    Lost value

Its food value and economic value are gone.

The WolvesEra alternative

Recover suitable produce before it becomes waste, and turn it into something that lasts.

  2. Processing
  3. Ingredient
  4. Value
The global picture

19%

of food available to consumers was wasted in 2022, or 1.05 billion tonnes. A further 13% is lost in the supply chain between harvest and sale.

How it works

From surplus to ingredient, in six controlled steps.

  1. 01

    Source

    Suitable surplus produce

We collect suitable surplus and underutilized produce from farms, supermarkets, hotels, restaurants and food businesses.

  2. 02

    Sort

    Quality and safety screening

Every intake is inspected. Only produce that is suitable and safe for processing moves forward.

  3. 03

    Process

    Preparation and processing

Produce is cleaned, trimmed and prepared for drying.

  4. 04

    Dehydrate

    Controlled drying / dehydration

Controlled drying removes moisture, turning perishable produce into a stable, longer-lasting material.

  5. 05

    Transform

    Powder or dehydrated ingredient

Dried produce is milled into powders or finished as dehydrated ingredients and blends.

  6. 06

    Reuse

    New food applications

Finished ingredients return to the food system through kitchens, manufacturers and consumers.
